Oregon 2010-part one

Our family, the Wrights, haven't made it home from our Oregon trip yet seeing as we took a short detour to Boise to say "hello" to the other side of the family, but I thought I would share with you the happenings of the first part of our trip.
We always stop at Multnomah Falls when heading to the coast and this year was no different.

Once we arrive at grandma and grandpa's beach house, as the grand kids call it, we always go and say hello to the ocean. Anthony wasn't too sure about the feel of the sand on his feet that first day, hence the shoes, but by the end of the week he wanted nothing to do with them.
Of course we always go over to Cannon Beach to visit Haystack Rock and all the fun shops. There were hermit crabs, star fish, and anemones to keep the kids in awe for awhile until they got to cold.

This year we all had a movie night with Return of the Jedi the film of choice. The Star Wars trilogy is something we Casebolt kids were raised on and of course one of our family favorites. This being the case everyone was a little horrified to learn that Josh had not seen any of them!! This will be quickly remedied I assure you.

Coffee with the ladies is a wonderful tradition. We even got to do it twice this year!

The carousel is a huge highlight for all the grandchildren when we go to Seaside. Anthony saddled up with the gang this year and screamed up until the thing began to move. Once that horse took off, however, it was a whole different story. He was all smiles and giggles and he even rode it twice.

This is the best we could do at building a sandcastle seeing as two out of these three little boys loved to stomp on our beautifully sculpted pillars of sand.

As always there is a fire...

...lit by this handsome man...

...and complete with fireworks this year.

Josh found a great park for the boys to play at while out on one of his morning runs.
Love this photo!

We visited an old lighthouse this year built on Cape Disappointment. Josh and I have been there before but I always forget what an amazing view it has of the shore line.

The lighthouse.

To be continued...
